Using Social Media to Attract New Members

Walmley Golf Club is located in the West Midlands, just north of Birmingham. Established over 100 years ago, this private-members club has a strong reputation in the local area but, as with most clubs, needed to tackle declining golf participation and increased commercial activity from its competitors.

 

Facilities at the club include:

  • 18-hole Championship golf course
  • Club restaurant with panoramic views across the course
  • Golf shop & practice facilities

Our Work

Promote Golf started work with Walmley Golf Club in 2016 until late 2018,  with the specific goal of increasing the effectiveness of their social media channels, to increase local awareness and reputation and, ultimately, membership headcount.

 

Work with Walmley included:

  • Organic social media management

  • Management of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts

  • Pay-per-click social media campaigns

  • Graphic design work

Results

Increase the number of followers to the various social media platforms.

Filled the 7-day membership category and implemented a waiting list.
